A live-action stage musical adaptation of Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas has been developed by Goodspeed Musicals and the Jim Henson Company. The show will run from December 7, 2008, through January 4, 2009, at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Connecticut.
The show will feature a mix of live-actors and original stage puppets from the Jim Henson Company. Paul Williams returned to write new songs just for the stage adaptation, including "Waterville" and "Keep Dreaming Alice".
