Gene Shalit and Grover
Gene Shalit (b. 1932) is a well-known movie critic on The Today Show. He appeared on Sesame Street in the 1970s. In 1983, he appeared in the "Great Muppet Look-Alike Contest" in Muppet Magazine issue 1, paired with the Swedish Chef.
Shalit also contributed a "Movie Crumb Cake" recipe for Miss Piggy's 1996 cookbook, In the Kitchen with Miss Piggy.
A Muppet version of Shalit appeared in The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence, followed by a pig-version of the same character.
