This book presents one of Prairie Dawn's Sesame Street Pageants, featuring Bert as The Little Red Hen who plants a seed, grows corn, and makes a batch of muffins. After the other animals choose not to help the red hen make the muffins, they end up not getting muffins. After the play, the cast pretends to not want to help Prairie Dawn put the set away.
